Green beans fried with garlic

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg green beans, ends trimmed
  • 1 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 3 tbsp (45 g) butter
  • 2 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest

Preparation:

  1. Blanch the green beans in a large saucepan of well-salted boiling water until bright green and crisp-tender, about 2 minutes. Then immediately transfer to a bowl of ice water to stop the beans from cooking.
  2. Heat a large heavy-bottomed skillet over medium heat. Add the olive oil and butter. Add the garlic and red pepper and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add the beans and continue to sauté until heated through and coated, about 5 minutes. Add the lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Serve with turkey meatloaf with barbecue glaze.
