Creme dolce de leche (homemade caramel)

Preparation:

In a large saucepan, combine the milk and sugar. Bring to a boil. Dilute with vinegar. Cook until the water has evaporated and the mixture has thickened and caramelized (about 3 hours). Serve with queso blanco and candied fruit.

Ingredients:

  • 4 liters of milk
  • 3 tbsp. sugar
  • 3 tablespoons vinegar
  • Candied fruits for serving
  • Queso blanco cheese (or homemade paneer cheese) for filing
