Ingredients:
- 8 slices turkey or pork bacon (black pepper or plain smoked bacon)
- 600 g of ground turkey
- 2 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
- 1 large shallot or 1/4 red onion (also finely chopped)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme leaves (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro (can be substituted with an equal amount of parsley)
- 1/2 small sweet pepper (green, red or yellow) - chopped
- 1 Serrano or jalapeño pepper (seeded and finely chopped)
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 1-2 tsp cayenne hot sauce (such as Tabasco)
- 2 tsp grill seasoning
- Vegetable or olive oil
- 200 g mature cheese, sliced
- 4 crispy buns for hamburgers, cut in half
- 1 cup red bell pepper relish (vegetable caviar)
- Red lettuce leaves
Preparation:
- Place the bacon in the pan and fry over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon, drain off any excess fat, and return the pan to the heat.
- Meanwhile, combine ground turkey, garlic, shallots, thyme, cilantro (parsley), all types of pepper, cumin, hot sauce and grill seasoningIn this article you will read about the types and using Tabasco sauce.
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and form round patties. Brush the patties with oil. Place them in a frying pan and cook each side over medium heat for 5-6 minutes.
- Place sliced cheese on top 2 minutes before done (use 1-2 pieces of cheese, at your discretion).
- Place the cooked patties in split buns. Top with fried bacon. Spread a thin layer of vegetable caviar on top of the buns and top with lettuce leaves (the relish will act as glue).
The dish is ready, you can serve it!
