Chocolate covered strawberries topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 450 g (about 20 pcs.) strawberries with stems (well washed and dried)
- 170 g semi-sweet chocolate, chopped into pieces
Preparation:
- Wash the strawberries, but do not remove the leaves or stems. Drain and dry completely.
Place the chocolate in a medium heatproof bowl. Fill a medium saucepan with about 2 inches of water and bring to a boil over medium heat. Turn off the heat and set the bowl with the chocolate over the saucepan to melt. Stir until smooth. Once the chocolate is melted and smooth, remove the bowl from the double boiler. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Culinary advice: You can also melt the chocolate in a glass bowl in the microwave on high power for 60 seconds. Remove, stir, and microwave for another 10 seconds until melted. Allow the chocolate to cool slightly and thicken.
- Holding a strawberry by the stem, dip the bottom half into the melted chocolate. Rotate the strawberry around itself to form a chocolate "tail" at the end. Place the strawberry on parchment paper. Repeat with the remaining berries.
