Ingredients:
- 3 cups finely chopped strawberries
- 0.5 cups of sugar
- Juice of half a lemon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Preparation:
- Combine strawberries, sugar, lemon juice and 2 tablespoons water in a saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the berries are softened, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing down on the berries; let cool completely. Cover the sauce and refrigerate for up to 4 days.
