Ingredients:
Festive Pie Spice Mix
- 6 tablespoons of sugar
- 1.5 tsp ground cinnamon
- 0.5 tsp ground allspice
- 0.5 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp. grated nutmeg
Nuts
- Vegetable oil to grease the baking sheet
- Protein of 1 large egg
- 4 cups unsalted raw hazelnuts
Preparation:
- Combine sugar, cinnamon, allspice, ginger, cloves, nutmeg and 1 1/2 teaspoons salt in a small bowl and set aside.
- Preheat oven to 175°C. Lightly grease the sides of a baking sheet with vegetable oil.
- Nuts:
Place the egg white in a large bowl and whisk until foamy. Add the hazelnuts and stir to coat. Add the spice mixture and stir again to coat.
- Spread the nuts evenly on the prepared baking sheet and bake, stirring occasionally, until golden brown, 15-20 minutes. Let cool on the baking sheet, then transfer to a large bowl.
