Blue Cheese Burger Salad

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1/4 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 slices of red onion, 0.5 cm thick.
  • 4 frozen grillable patties
  • 6 cups torn romaine lettuce leaves
  • 30 g crumbled blue cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped toasted walnuts
  • Vegetables cut just before serving

Preparation:

  1. Combine vinegar, olive oil, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper in a jar with a tight-fitting lid. Close the lid and shake well.
  2. Brush both sides of the onions with a little of the dressing. Grill the onions and frozen patties for 4-6 minutes, turning once. Remove from the grill.
  3. Arrange the lettuce leaves on plates. Cut the patties into strips. Separate the onion into rings. Place the patties and onions on top of the lettuce leaves. Sprinkle with blue cheese and walnuts. Shake the dressing and drizzle it over the salads.

    Walnuts:
    Roasted nuts have a more vibrant and rich flavor. To roast, spread the nuts in a single layer in a shallow baking dish. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-10 minutes or until light golden brown. Be sure to stir the nuts a couple of times to prevent burning.
