Ingredients:
- 110 g butter
- 1 large onion, cut into half rings
- 0.7 kg ground beef
- 5 drops of Worcestershire sauce
- 8 slices of rye bread
- 8 slices Swiss cheese
Preparation:
- In a medium skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-low heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté, stirring occasionally, until golden and softened, 20-25 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, combine ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, and some salt and black pepper. Form into 4 patties.
- In a separate skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Fry the patties on both sides until cooked through.
- Assemble the patty melt in the following order: slice of bread, slice of cheese, patty, quarter of a fried onion, another slice of cheese, and another slice of bread.
- In a clean, large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat and fry the sandwiches until golden brown. Remove them and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet.
- Return the sandwiches to the pan, flipping them over. Cook until golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted. Cut in half and serve immediately!
